SINGLE PAYER IS GAINING STEAM!!

CBS has a report about the exchange between Rep Weiner and Joe Scarborough on MSNBC about single payer health care.

"A Single-Payer Plan Makes So Much Sense Even Joe Scarborough Can't Argue With It"

SWEET. Thank GOD that Single Payer voices are starting to be heard in the mainstream.

Be sure to keep the pressure on by pushing for Single Payer in MoveOn.org's photo petition

See the video of the exchange described here below:

Universal Health Care Message to Americans From Canadian Doctors & Health Care Experts

"Trying to get there incrementally is like trying to cross a chasm in two steps."

"This is a time for courage and it's not a moment to take tiny steps."

Hey, MoveOn... Move OVER!

MoveOn.org is hosting a photo petition where they want you to use their materials.

Ever the wimps, and always taking their marching orders from the DNC, their photo petition is in support of the public option.

I say we hijack it, and use their photo petition for SINGLE PAYER.

Here's the photo that I submit:

So here's the plan-- contact all the people on your lists, and ask them to do the same.

MoveOn.org is supposedly keeping the DNC honest. (HAHAHA!) Let's keep MoveOn.org honest.

PS: You can totally use the MoveOn.org sign that they have for you to print out:

The Onion: Congress divided over how to best deny Americans health care

"WASHINGTON—After months of committee meetings and hundreds of hours of heated debate, the United States Congress remained deadlocked this week over the best possible way to deny Americans health care.

"Both parties understand that the current system is broken," House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told reporters Monday. "But what we can't seem to agree upon is how to best keep it broken, while still ensuring that no elected official takes any political risk whatsoever. It’s a very complicated issue."

"Ultimately, though, it's our responsibility as lawmakers to put these differences aside and focus on refusing Americans the health care they deserve," Pelosi added.

The legislative stalemate largely stems from competing ideologies deeply rooted along party lines. Democrats want to create a government-run system for not providing health care, while Republicans say coverage is best denied by allowing private insurers to make it unaffordable for as many citizens as possible.

"We have over 40 million people without insurance in this country today, and that is unacceptable," Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT) said. "If we would just quit squabbling so much, we could get that number up to 50 or even 100 million. Why, there's no reason we can't work together to deny health care to everyone but the richest 1 percent of the population."

"That's what America is all about," he added."

CLICK HERE TO ASK A QUESTION

Here's what I'm asking:

"Since Single Payer is the best option when it comes to reducing costs, increasing the quality of care, and covering 100% of the population, will you call on the American people to lobby congress in support of HR 676?"

Citizens lobby for HR 676 in Washington DC

If you watch the mainstream press, you will hear that a single-payer health care plan will not be seriously considered by lawmakers crafting reform of the US health care system. Advocates of HR 676, the single-payer health care plan in the House of Representatives, beg to differ. This video follows their efforts at a rally in Upper Senate Park.

Erik Prince, Blackwater CEO, allegedly MURDERED WITNESSES helping with Federal Investigation

from Care2.com

Two former employees of Blackwater - the notorious military mercenary corporation, now known as XE - have filed sworn statements in federal court making shocking allegations.

One of the most explosive allegations is that Erik Prince, founder and former CEO of Blackwater, murdered or facilitated the murder of people who were cooperating in a federal investigation of the company.

Read Jeremy Scahill's article that broke this story in The Nation.

These allegations are too disturbing to ignore. In addition to murder, these sworn statements allege:

* Blackwater executives destroyed incriminating emails, documents and videos;
* Blackwater management threatened potential whistleblowers with violence and death;
* Blackwater smuggled illegal and unlawful weapons into Iraq - sometimes in then CEO Prince's private planes, sometimes in dogfood bags, using Blackwater's canine division as cover for this crime; and
* CEO Prince "views himself as a Christian crusader tasked with eliminating Muslims and the Islamic faith from the globe."

The Iraqi government banned Blackwater from Iraq in January of this year, due to its violence toward Iraqis and repeated criminal acts. Yet the U.S. State Department still has other contracts with this company.
